Ever fancied trying fly fishing or are new to the sport? 

 

If so, HASSRA (Leeds) Gamefishers have planned a session, subject to numbers, of fly fishing tuition with a professional coach for Saturday 17th May.

 

The tuition will be with a professional coach, limited to 8 for health and safety reasons, and will be at Kilnsey Trout Fishery, Kilnsey in Wharfedale.  The tuition will cover tackle set up, casting theory & practice, fly choice and catching fish.  Rods and tackle will available and the cost of a day’s NRA licence will be reimbursed if needed.

HASSRA (Leeds) Gamefishers

 

THREE DAYS THREE WATERS

 

The Gamefishers are planning a weekend fishing trip for June 6th, 7th and 8th.  The intention is to make use of Anglian Water’s 3 days fishing and boat hire ticket to fish any three of the Anglian Waters (Rutland Water, Grafham Water, Pitsford Water or Eyebrook) on consecutive days.  The three waters to be fished will be decided on by those going.  Overnight accommodation for Friday and Saturday will be in the Vaults, Uppingham. 

 

The planned itinerary is as follows:-

 

·         Friday 6th June 2008 - meet at the first water.  After a days fishing repair to the Vaults for a well earned rest (and a few ales).

·         Saturday 7th June 2008 - fish the second water retiring again to the Vaults for more rest and recuperation.

·         Sunday 8th June 2008 - fish the final water before retiring home, hopefully, laden with fish.

 

Costs:

 

·         Anglian Water 3Days3 Waters ticket - £159 per 2 anglers.

·         Room rate (sleeps 2) at the Vaults will be ~£55 per night for 2.

·         For HASSRA Leeds Members as subsidy of 50% will apply.
