LAKE DISTRICT  WEEKEND

Friday 17 – Monday 20 October 2008

The English Lakes and Fells have some of the best walking in the country, and it is virtually on our doorstep.  If you enjoy hill walking, why not join us on this ever-popular weekend.  By popular request, we are returning to the delightfully situated and comfortable Forest Side Hotel in Grasmere.  All rooms have en suite facilities.  Those who have been before will remember that the food is legendary – particularly the Cumbrian lamb – and there are badgers to watch in the evenings.

 

There will be led walks on each of the four days: a short walk (about 6 miles) on the Friday of our arrival and the Monday of our departure, and full day walks on the Saturday and Sunday.  The full day walks will be offered at a choice of length and/or strenuousness.  A detailed itinerary, including the Friday meeting point and time, will be issued to those who book.  For reasons of insurance, those coming on this trip must participate in the programme offered, and not take alternative walks without the Leader.

Included in the price

The price includes three nights' dinner, bed and breakfast at the hotel, all led walks and gratuities for the hotel staff.  There is no coach with this trip: we shall make our own way to the hotel by car, and will use car sharing to reach the start points of any walks that do not begin from the hotel.

 Please enclose payment in full with your booking.  Cheques should be made payable to HASSRA Leeds Rambling Club, and will not be cashed before the end of June.
