THURSDAY

 

We depart at 8am and travel to Dover for the 3.15pm P+O sailing to Calais, arriving around 5.45pm local time. We travel the short distance along the coast to Boulogne and check in to our hotel around 6.15pm. 

 

The 2 star Ibis Hotel is situated in the centre of this attractive town. All rooms are en-suite with satellite TV.  There are many bars and restaurants on your doorstep in the atmospheric Old Town.

 

FRIDAY

 

This morning we travel to Cite Europe where we spend around 3 hours before returning to the hotel.  The afternoon is free to enjoy Boulogne or you may wish to visit the local Auchan hypermarket too!   

 

Boulogne’s old Town is a pleasant place to explore – places of interest include the huge domed Cathedral and the medieval Chateau Comtal which houses a museum.  The Nausicaa Sea Life Centre (on the sea front) is one of the largest in Europe.

 

SATURDAY

 

A continental buffet breakfast is included. After checking out the morning is free. There is a lively morning market and plenty of shops.  We leave Boulogne at 12.30pm and return to Calais for the 2pm sailing to Dover, arriving at around 2.30pm local time. We expect to arrive in Leeds by approx 8.30pm.
